FAPSC is always in need of volunteers to carry out the association's strategic plan goals. Volunteers can participate in multiple committees and task forces. FAPSC has standing committees that plan and organize a range of educational programs, events, and industry and professional development activities for our members. Must be a member of FAPSC to volunteer for a committee.  These committees will meet via conference and or in conjunction with the FAPSC quarterly board meetings.

Allied Health

Composed of all health related profession programs except Nursing but include Home Health Aide, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technicians, Radiological Technicians, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technicians, Ultrasound Technicians, Veterinary Technicians, etc.

Awards

This committee administers the Annual FAPSC Awards Program, recognizing their colleagues according to the policies established by the board of directors. Members are responsible for promotion of the awards program and selection of  recipients.

Communications

The Communications Committee is responsible for coordinating effective communication efforts to promote the private postsecondary career schools/colleges message and promote the value our members provide to student and the business community.

Computers & Information Technology

Composed of schools/programs in Computer Assisted Design, Computer Gaming, Engineering, Information Technology, Network Management, Software, etc.

Continuing Education and Conference

The Continuing Education Committee meets bi-monthly in conjunction with the FAPSC Board. The committee covers conferences and continuing education courses through FAPSC. Members will assist with curriculum development and logistics for all continuing education programs, online and in-person, for school administrators and faculty. The committee hosts workshops throughout the state and provides assistance at conferences.

Cosmetology Arts and Massage

Composed of schools/programs in Aesthetics, Cosmetology, Massage Therapy, Nail Technicians, Spa Management, etc.

Creative Arts 

Composed of schools/programs in Advertising, Culinary Arts, Fashion Design, Graphic Arts, Media, etc.

Distance Education

Composed of schools/programs in Online Education.

Legislative

The Legislative Committee focuses on policy and higher education regulatory issues, with the objective of advancing career colleges and schools and their students.  Committee members help develop FAPSC' legislative agenda and make recommendations for action on all legislation affecting career colleges and schools.

Liberal Arts & Traditional Programs

Composed of schools/programs more closely aligned with traditional educational programs such as Accounting, Business, Criminology, Education, Psychology, etc. as well as General Education and ESL.

Member Services

The Member Services Committee is responsible for advancing and meeting the needs of member schools through on-going recruitment and retention initiatives. The committee is responsible for coordinating regional activities such as workshops, town hall meetings, and social events.  The committee also is responsible for the implementation and monitoring FAPSC Affinity Partnership Programs.

Nursing

Formed in 2009 due to the demand of the Nursing shortage in the State of Florida, FAPSC mission is to support quality nursing programs in our sector. Since, this committee has been a driving force identify topics and issues that need to be addressed, and ways to share best practices through hosting sessions at conferences, webinars and through regional events. This committee meets in a variety of different ways, either at the quartely FAPSC board meeting, via conference call or schedule one on one's with fellow members. The Nursing committee continues to seek ways to assist member and non-member schools to offer quality nursing programs that help meet Florida’s need for nurses and collaborates with the Florida Board of Nursing.

Technical Arts & Trades

Composed of schools/programs in Construction, Diving, Electronics, HVAC, Mechanics, Truck Driving, Welding, etc.

Workforce

Formed in May of 2011, this committee seeks ways to strengthen workforce development policies and relationships that will benefit students attending Florida’s career schools and colleges.
