On May 30, 2014 FAPSC launched an improved interactive website and database system. As with any new release, there have been a few glitches along the way. Like trying to send out this E-Flash.
We are delighted to bring this new system to you, our members as there are a lot of interactive and useful features. We will unveil a new feature each month to get you better acquainted with all of the enhancements.
Right now, I encourage you to visit our website www.FAPSC.org and log-in and take a look. This is a great time to make sure that we have the most current and updated information on you and your school/company. One of the unique features of this system is that each person, school and company has a profile page. School and associate members have a designee that will have separate sign-on credentials. An email was sent to the designee on May 30th. If you did not receive an email with your log- in please contact Wanda@FAPSC.org or call (850) 577-3139.
Please watch your email boxes for more updates on this new system. If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to contact us by clicking here.
On June 13, 2014, Governor Rick Scott signed the Nursing Bill CS/SB/SB 1036. It is now Chapter No. 2014-92, Laws of Florida.
ABHES Honors Chris Eaton with Scholarship Program
In August 2013, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) lost a long-standing and irreplaceable member of its family, Christopher (Chris) Eaton. The ABHES commissioners and staff believe there is no better way to honor Chris’ memory than to create a scholarship program in his name. His dedication to quality and student success through his untiring work for ABHES over the past 18 years is testament to Chris’ spirit.
While we will miss Chris forever, we know that you will contribute generously to the annual scholarship program which, we hope, will go on always and be a continued testament of what Chris meant to us all.
Please read all the specific information regarding the scholarship program and how to make a donation.

For students to become gainfully employed, they must first overcome the initial hurdle of getting noticed amid the hundreds of other candidates applying for the same jobs. Even with superb technical or soft skills, students that don’t market themselves effectively won’t ever get the opportunity to show employers what they can do.
In the 21st century, social profiles, micro résumés, ASCII résumés, infographic résumés, video résumés, and other forms of digital marketing collateral allow students more ways than ever to market themselves. Consequently, today’s career services professionals must not only master the art of crafting 21st century resumes, they need to know how Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Optimization (SMO) and Online Reputation Management (ORM) strategies play a role in modern career marketing. Career professionals who upgrade their skills to meet 21st century standards will help their students compete and ultimately increase their likelihood of becoming gainfully employed.
CS103 – Assisting Students in Designing Impactful Career Marketing Collateral is a new course available to help career services professionals improve the way they market their students using current digital strategies and techniques.
Do you know when your school, associate or professional membership dues are up for renewal? If you are unsure please contact Wanda Minick at (850) 577-3139 or via email Wanda@FAPSC.org. We have dues renewals going on throughout the year and we don't want you to miss out on any member benefits such as networking, advocacy, CEU's, professional development, or industry information.
While renewing your dues don't forget to include a donation to the FAPSC PAC to support the advocacy work we do on behalf of your students.
Since FAPSC launch of our new website/database we are able to provide more benefits to our members. One of the newest features I would like to point out is our Career Center.
School and associate members will now be able to post job openings in this center. Of course, to do so you will need to log-in. All school and associate members have a primary contact listed in their record. This designee will have access to post career opening at your campus or business.
All school, associate and professional members of FAPSC have the ability to search these job openings.
If you would like more details about this new feature please contact Wanda Minick at (850) 577-3139 or Wanda@FAPSC.org.
