Loss of a Great Friend and Mentor to Career Education

On June 21, 2013 we lost great man, mentor and friend James M. Patch. He was the former President of Jones College in Jacksonville, the Orlando campus of the Professional Golfers Career College, and President of the Accrediting Association for Independent Colleges and Schools. In addition, during his 40 years in Education, he wrote software for colleges and consulted with various schools on accreditation issues. Jim also served as FAPSC President during 1998-1999.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon, former Pastor of the Community United Methodist Church of Oldsmar, former United Methodist District Superintendent of the Fort Myers District and the retired pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Clearwater; devoted son, Randy Ellison; loving daughters: Amanda Patch, Tammy (David) Mortti, Anita Taylor, and Paula Ciardullo; cherished grandfather to Nichole, Christina and Taylor Mortti, Tabitha Valdez and Cassi and Robbie Taylor; devoted great grandfather to Faith, Grace and Allison Roberts; dear brother to Nikki Babbit, Mary Baker, and Frank Patton; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Earn Certification & Apply Credits toward a MSEd Program at Keiser University

This article was contributed by Robert Starks Jr., Vice President of Learning Initiatives with MaxKnowledge, Inc.

Through the FAPSC Online Training Center, there is now an opportunity to earn a certification in one of several concentration areas and apply continuing education credits toward a Master of Science Degree in Education with Keiser University.

New Excellence Programs provide tailored training for critical skill areas. Each program requires the completion of 12 online courses. Participants who successfully complete a program earn 48 hours of continuing education credits as well as Certification as a Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP) from the National Association of State Administrators and Supervisors of Private Schools (NASASPS). CHEPs receive a NASASPS certificate and are recognized on the NASASPS website. These 48 hours of continuing education credits may be applied toward a Master of Science degree in Education from Keiser University, a regionally accredited institution.

Moreover, Excellence Program graduates, who have earned the CHEP credential, will be eligible for the MaxKnowledge Twenty-Five Percent Tuition Scholarship for the MSEd program at Kesier University!

For those who value continuing education and would like to earn recognition as a Certified Higher Education Professional with the option of applying continuing education credits toward a MSEd program, now's your chance!

June 19, 2013

LOS ANGELES – Leads360, the market-leader in cloud-based intelligent sales automation solutions, today announced that the company has changed its name to Velocify. The rebranding more accurately reflects the company’s mission to help organizations across industries dramatically increase revenue by enabling sales professionals to sell at the “speed of opportunity.” Today’s announcement also reflects the company’s rapid, triple-digit growth over the past three years, with product adoption of its innovative intelligent sales automation solutions by companies such as Allstate, Royal Bank of Scotland, USAA, Nationstar Mortgage and State Farm.

Imagine America Foundation to Sponsor Future Postsecondary Education Leader

PR Web July 10, 2013

The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) is thrilled to sponsor the 2013 Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) Leadership Institute. With new market demands and new technologies, our leaders must not only adapt to change but also manage others through it, if they are to survive today’s demanding environment. For over 25 years, the APSCU Leadership Institute has provided experienced postsecondary education professionals with the training they need to become future leaders.

The Leadership Institute is a six-day program designed to prepare leaders for new challenges and responsibilities. Through realistic scenarios, group interaction, roundtable discussions and teambuilding exercises participants explore their future leadership role as a strategist, analyst, change agent, manager, communicator, coach and team member. Focus is placed on a leader’s impact within the postsecondary education community.
