FAPSC Member School Florida Institute of Animal Arts Helps with Gulf Oil Spill
The Florida Institute of Animal Arts (FIAA) Pet Grooming School of Winter Park, Florida has partnered with Matter of Trust to support the Hair Mat Oil Spill Program. Florida Institute of Animal Arts trains professional pet groomers, and is donating several pounds of dog and cat hair per day to manufacturers who weave the hair into mats that soak up the oil and clean our beaches. Cosmetology and pet grooming salons are encouraged to get involved in this project to help clean up the Gulf oil spill. They can contact FIAA at 407-869-7387 or on our website at www.myfiaa.com.
If your school or company is assiting with the Gulf Oil spill FAPSC wants to hear about it. Please send your press releases to Wanda@FAPSC.org
Recycled hair clippings are also made into hair “booms” which are sausage shaped. Hair is stuffed into recycled nylons with mesh to provide a strong exterior. The booms are tied together and used to encircle and contain oil spills to keep the oil from spreading according to Matter of Trust. Read more.

Exhibiting at FAPSC 2010 annual conference and expo but not sure how to decorate your booth to fit our " A Fraternity of Learners" conference theme? The FAPSC team has come up with some creative solutions and is willing to share them with you.
1. Use collegiate items such as letterman jackets, fraternity shirts and pins, mortarboards and tassels.
2. Decorate your booth as a literary society, a place for intellectual debate.
3. A greek themed booth with columns and temples. Name your location. Invite your guests to the Acropolis or the Parthenon, etc.
4. Of course you could always opt for the animal house motif Toga! Toga! Toga!
