Bob Gosdeck retired from the US Navy after serving honorably for over 22 years. His last deployment was on the USS Saratoga where he served as master chief of the ship.

After retiring from the Navy, he taught at Orange Park High School for two year and then joined McGraw-Hill Publishing Company. He retired after 23 years as the regional vice-president of the Southwest region.

Bob demonstrated his support of FAPSC by stepping up consistently with sponsorships of conferences, and participation in and support of workshops.

He passed away in August of 2009 after a 13 month battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). ALS is a horrible disease but typical of the person he was, he met every challenge with optimism, dignity, and grace.

In conversations with his colleagues, Bob is described as a mentor, a strong supporter of FAPSC, a lover of golf, a man with a true zest for living and a devoted family man.
