FAPSC hosted its annual day at the capitol, FAPSC Day, on February 13, 2019. Both lawmakers and participants consider the event a success.

This year we had 22 participants and scheduled over 40 meetings with members of the House of Representatives and Senate along with their respective staff.  According to everyone involved, both FAPSC members and Legislators, the event was very successful. FAPSC members focused on a number of issues in their meetings including deregulation, school funding, and leveling the higher education playing field to name a few.

FAPSC invited Senator Joe Gruters to attend the Pre FAPSC day orientation on February 12th, the evening before our Capital Day.  Sen. Gruters was also very generous with his time and spoke at length with our members and also participated in a Q&A session at the end.  This was a PAC sponsored appearance.  Sen. Gruters was presented with a check at the end of the meeting for the Republican Senatorial Leadership Fund.

All FAPSC members in attendance had the unique opportunity to be included in a private meeting with Senate President Bill Galvano.  Everyone had an opportunity to introduce themselves and their school.  President Galvano was very gracious with his time and allowed us to present any issues we were interested in for the upcoming session.  He also reassured the FAPSC members that the Senate was taking a very “deliberate” approach to issues pertaining to our sector and to the “deregulation” process in the Senate.
